“Things I want to tell my Baby”(guest post)

From day one, the countdown of nine months begun;
And I eagerly waited for month five, for flaunting my baby bump.

Silently, I wished an early arrival of my Delivery day;
Guess that’s why I kept maternity bag ready, weeks before the estimated date.

Yes, I felt restless; but slow deep breaths lowered my stress.
Yes, I was in fear; when my Due Date was getting near.

Then one fine day, I realized you were trying to come out;
And hence I gave a loud shout!

I kept my eyes closed, not in pain but in mirth;
I closed my eyes to thank god for helping me throughout your birth.

Though it was your first day on earth, but it wasn’t our first meet;
As you were inside me from past forty weeks.

You caught everyone’s attention,
The time I brought you Home with indefinable satisfaction.

Honestly, I used to get a happy-unhappy feeling,
As your hairs were growing,
But my hair growth was slowing.

From reading books and articles on baby grooming to baby clothing;
I sought and bought everything, made for your well-being.

After some time, you started using your cries to alarm me;
Dear Baby, you certainly turned me into a busy bee.

With you, I realized that Baby Care is beyond breastfeeding;
That phase is still special to me since ’twas my level one of parenting.
